The theme of PRME India chapter meet 2022 is: Partnering for social impact: Towards Responsible Management Education. The meet seeks to address the challenge of “if and how” management education can create ecosystems for creating a socially aware community of participants.
The meet is anchored in the belief that schools are the conveners for important conversations and new thinking across the universities, institutes and with the business community, as well as with government and broader society. But for positive societal impact to take place, conversations must turn into “strategic and meaningful” relationships, and those relationships must spur action. What is also apparent is that no management school alone has the knowledge needed to approach the future challenges alone.
The meet hopes that we will together engage as a community to discuss many of the issues related to the current global challenges and the curriculum and pedagogies being deployed to address these issues.
The Forum is open to academic and corporate and social sector audiences, and not limited to members of the PRME India Chapter or signatories of the UN-supported PRME.
SPJIMR will host the meet on 12th December, 2022 in Mumbai, India.
We look forward to see you.
Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a learning community of management schools committed to weaving six core principles into business and management education (https://www.unprme.org/what-we-do)
Brain child of then UN General Secretary, Ban ki Moon, UN PRME, was developed in 2007 by an international task force of sixty deans, university presidents and official representatives of leading business schools and academic institutions. Today it has members from over 800 management schools across the globe.
The idea was officially introduced by the UN Global Compact at the Global Forum "Business as an Agent of World Benefit" at Case Western Reserve University in October 2006. Under the coordination of the UN Global Compact and leading academic institutions, the PRME task force developed a set of principles which lays the foundation for the global platform for responsible management
Dr. Chandrika Parmar currently chair the PRME India Chapter
The Global Compact Network India works towards mainstreaming the ten universally accepted principles in business activities around the world, catalysing action in support of broader goals, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and setting the tone for the post 2015 development agenda within the Indian context.
GCNI members represent pertinent sectors of the country such as civil society, private, and public sector organisations, which with time have strengthened their commitment to the Global Compact principles. The main objective of the Network is to provide a forum to various Indian companies and organizations for co-partnerships, build a strong network and promote sustainable and positive corporate citizenship by encouraging various Indian Corporate bodies/ Institutions/ NGOs/ SMEs, to become members of the network, all these together aid in dissemination and promotion of global compact principles within their own milieu....
As Indian arm of the UNGC, the Global Compact Network India has established a semiotic relationship with the overall mandate and principles of the UNGC. Through its activities and programmes such as the India CEO forum on Human Rights, Women Empowerment Principles, Collective Action Project, National Convention, etc. GCNI continues to streamline its energies towards the promotion of the UNGC core areas and sustainable and responsible practices amongst its members belonging to the private sector along with the participation of public and civil society stakeholders of India.
