FPM Fee Structure

FPM Fees

FPM Full-time at SPJIMR is a fully-funded residential programme. Every scholar admitted to the full-time programme receives a stipend for the first four years of the programme. FPM Part-time is a non-residential programme, and the total fee for the programme is INR 12 lakhs.

Monthly Stipend

Every participant admitted as a full-time scholar receives a stipend for the first four years of the programme.

  • During the coursework phase: INR 40,000 per month
  • Post-clearing the qualifying exam: INR 42,000 per month
  • Post successful defence of proposal: INR 45,000 per month.

Participants admitted as a part-time scholars shall pay the total fee of INR 12 lakhs as applicable at the time of admission, payable in the following manner:

An initial non-refundable acceptance fee of INR 5 lakhs is payable before the commencement of the programme in the academic year into which he/she is selected for admission. The balance of INR 7 lakhs can be paid in three instalments.

  • Contingency Grants

    Contingency grants help the full-time participant to access the necessary equipment and facilities for research. The amount is reimbursed after verification of the submitted bills.

    • Every full-time participant is eligible for a contingency grant of INR 25,000 per year for the first four years of the programme to cover research expenses such as the purchase of software, books, stationeries, hardware etc.
    • One-time claim of up to INR 40,000 towards the laptop purchase during the first four years of the programme.
  • Conference Grants

    Towards achieving its goal of excellence in research, FPM scholars are encouraged to participate in various national and international conferences. Upon completion of the comprehensive qualifying exam, FPM scholars are entitled to reimburse domestic & international conferences subject to a ceiling of INR 2,30,000 during the entire period of the programme.

  • Research Grants

    The institute also supports FPM scholars for their research. Examples of research grants include costs for running a lab experiment, receiving survey responses, etc. The participant can contact the FPM office for a discussion, and if feasible, the institute will extend its support. The FPM office looks into the requests on a case-by-case basis.
