Operations Supply Chain Management & Quantitative Methods

Suranjan Das is a professor in teh area of Operations Supply Chain Management & Quantitative Methods at SPJIMR. He holds a Doctoral Degree (FPM) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Calcutta, with a major in Money & Economic Planning.

In his career spanning over 36 years, he has been associated with eminent organisations in the steel industry, with the responsibility for sales and material management for 6 years before joining Academics. Later, he pursued his passion for teaching management at leading business schools in India and abroad.

His research and consulting interests are on themes related to Development Economics, Target Costing, Customer Satisfaction, Design Thinking, UX design, Customer Behaviour, and Retail Profiling of Consumers. His research contributions and findings have been presented at leading World conferences and in important publications.

He has conducted several management development programmes for senior to mid-level executives from corporates and institutions. He is currently the Group Head for Quantitative Methods at SPJIMR.
