Brief description

The findings reveal several challenges and observations regarding the management of natural resources within the Tangkhul community in Manipur. The conflict between institutions, groups, and neighbouring villages poses significant obstacles to effective resource management. Inconsistent governance structures, such as differing administrative systems within villages, contribute to these conflicts. Additionally, discrepancies in land use patterns between districts impact resource management practices. While regulations exist on paper, enforcement varies, with some areas experiencing difficulties implementing rules effectively. Despite awareness of regulations among villagers, challenges remain in ensuring adherence and effective enforcement, highlighting the need for improved governance structures and community engagement to address these issues comprehensively.
