The 11-month PGPM programme at SPJIMR saw its fifth batch graduating with 100% placements yet again. The utility and relevance of the eleven month PGPM programme to the Industry has been amply substantiated by its recent placement results. It achieved 100% placement for the 55 participants, with a highest jump in total emolument by 200% of the last drawn salary. The average increase in the last drawn salary is 65%. Some of the companies that participated in the placement process include JP Morgan Chase, ITC, IBM, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, L&T, Conjoin Group, ICICI Bank, KPIT Cummins and others. These companies offered roles like Assistant General Manager, Senior Manager, Senior Consultant, Program Manager, Executive Assistant to CEO, Business Development Manager and Business Analyst. SPJIMR has extended its Post Graduate Programme in Management to provide General Management skills to specialists in Marketing and Finance. Earlier the programme was restricted to the Manufacturing & Operations and Information Management areas. It has also increased its participant intake to 90 this year. The response has been good in-spite of difficult times.
The one year PGPM programme, is targeted at the mid - managerial roles, catering to the industry need of lateral recruitments. The participants get value addition at a critical juncture of their professional lives, through the innovative programme architecture. It has been highly acclaimed by the industry and has lived up to its promise of providing the corporate with experienced and focused mid-level managers having modern outlook. Programme's splendid success is evident from the roles that are mostly offered; such as Programme Manager, Chief Technology Officer, Senior Business Analyst, Business Development Manager, Chief Manager, Senior Supply chain and Operations consultant etc.
The fifth batch (2009) of PGPM commenced in January-09 with 55 participants. 21 students specialized in operations management and 34 in information management. The participants hailed from approximately 35 leading companies and had rich experience in various domains like Aerospace,Automobile, BFSI,Health Care,Insurance, ITES, SCM/Logistics, Telecom, Manufacturing, Power, Mining, Heavy Engineering etc. With experience ranging from 4 to 12 years, they brought in excellent insight into diverse industries and business situations, thereby enhancing peer learning. The placement for the participants was conducted from, 20th November 2009 to 17th December 2009. Several of the blue chip companies, like Arthur D Little, TSMG, Infosys, and Cognizant visited the campus. Challenging roles at fairly senior positions were offered by IBM, Daimler, Mphasis, Photon, Tata Steel, KEC International, L & T, P & G, JPMC Boston. Ana, KPMG, ATOS origin, Frost & Sullivan and Tata Consultancy Services.
Roles offered to the class of 2008-09 were Senior Business Analyst, Knowledge Specialist, Project Manager, Programme Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Manager, Chief Manager, Sr. IT Consultant, Functional Consultant, Sr. Supply Chain Consultant and Research Analyst.
