| Program Architecture | Programmes ~ PGDM ~ Programme Architecture ~ Pedagogy |
The choice of pedagogic methods at SPJIMR is based on an important conviction expressed by the following three propositions:
SPJIMR's concerns and resulting innovations have therefore emphasized activities beyond the conventional classroom situation. What has evolved over the years is a mixed bundle of innovative practices and experiments unique to SPJIMR. While due importance is given to classroom learning, the effort is to
build suitable stimuli in non-classroom learning, interaction and internship
to facilitate the development of the right attitudes, skills and knowledge
on which the participant can base his or her own architecture of self-development.
A proactive and formally planned programme for developing attitudes and skills - completing the troika of management capability development - has been firmly institutionalized within SPJIMR's beyond classroom curriculum through a variety of vehicles. Assessment & Development of Managerial Abilities & Potential (ADMAP) - This represents a value based approach to management education where the objective is to develop managerial traits, skills and attitude not only through classroom teaching but also through actually practicing them through active involvement with managerial activities. Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC) - To bring management education closer to reality in the Indian context, apply management principles to an unstructured environment the participants have to undertake a social project of national relevance. This gives the participants an opportunity to acquire a balanced perspective of realities and needs of society. Abhyudaya - An innovative pedagogic offering by SPJIMR aimed at developing future leaders (and organizations) with character and integrity and a socially responsive behavior, by sensitizing participants to prevailing economic conditions, moral dilemmas and unstructured environment.
