Vasant Sivaraman

Professor, Strategy

Vasant Sivaraman holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Mumbai. He has completed  Postgraduation in Management from the Indian Institute of Management. He teaches General Management, Strategy and Finance at SPJIMR. He embarked on his career in 1987 in Corporate and Investment Banking, wherein he worked for 17 years in strategic leadership roles.

He joined academics in 2003 and has pursued his passion for teaching Strategy and Finance at prominent management institutions. He reflects a keen interest in conducting Management Development Programmes with senior industry executives and working professionals.

The depth of his research passion is anchored on topics that include Blue Ocean Strategy, Scope Expansion, Valuation, Business Simulations, and Management. His intellectual contributions have been published in leading Strategy and Case journals, periodicals, and media publications and presented at international conferences. He has successfully led institutional leadership roles at SPJIMR.
