PGEMP Batch 62 Inaugurated

May 15, 2017

The 62nd batch of SPJIMR’s Post Graduate Executive Management Programme (PGEMP) for working executives was inaugurated at the SPJIMR campus on Monday (May 15, 2017).

The batch comprises participants from SPJIMRs corporate partners like L&T, Numaligarh Refineries, Ashland Industries, Perkins India, Bristlecone, e-Clerx amongst others.

The Chief Guest at the occasion was Mr. Rajiv Gerela, Head of End User Central Operations and Command Center, APAC, DBOI Global Services Ltd. (Deutsche Bank Group). He said, “The important thing is how to unlearn and learn through collaboration with your peers and apply those learnings in your organisation,” he added.

SPJIMR Dean Dr. Ranjan Banerjee said, “The balance between self-centred and the other-centred is at the heart of a value-based growth. Experience in itself is not a differentiator, but the ability to learn from experience is the difference. You cannot learn with a mind that is not open.”

“The only meaningful hierarchy of the future is the hierarchy of competence. At SPJIMR, we will encourage you to ask uncomfortable questions. It is a part of the learning process,” he added.

This was the first PGEMP batch inauguration under the leadership of Dr. Preeta George, who took over as the Chairperson of the PGEMP earlier this year. The Dean’s remarks were echoed by Dr. George, who said, “When your values are clear to you, decision making is easy.” She later introduced the participants to the PGEMP architecture.
